This Victorian two-and-a-half story frame building was located approximately where the present CSX Railway Station is today. The cupola at the top was used as a watchtower for the station manager. From this lofty perch, he could look up and down the tracks and monitor the train traffic. This structure had a second life when it was moved to North Eleventh Street and became a rooming house. Fire destroyed the building in the late 1970's.
The wildflowers in the foreground are known as "swamp lilies" or "string lilies". Along the Ocklawaha River in low areas, these white flowers grow profusely.
