This is the wall you see from the top of the bridge coming across the St. Johns River from East to West.  In the background you see a steamship, which represents the mainstay of our economy during the 1800's, when Palatka was a major shipping port.  In the foreground, you see azaleas and magnolias, which are both native to this area.

For many years we have had a mural at this site, but it was in need of a "facelift".  This mural was refurbished in 1998 through a cooperative effort made by the student of the Florida School of the Arts, their instructors, the Arts Council of Greater Palatka, and all of the "Other Partners" listed above.  We are very proud of the work contributed by our young people!  And we were amazed at the enthusiasm shown by all who were involved in completing this project...
